CWCDAfrica continues Talks with NAPTIP to strengthen the fight against GBV through UNSUB

The fight against sexual-gender based violence continues with new social campaigns creating awareness. With the release of the UNSUB app, the CANS Foundation Centre for Civic Citizens Welfare and Community Development (CWCDAfrica) has been advancing the cause. On Tuesday, August 30, 2022, the CANs foundation (CWCDA) paid Dr. Fatima Waziri-Azi, Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), a courtesy visit. She received the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of the CANS Foundation Centre for Civic Citizens Welfare and Community Development (CWCDAfrica), Mr. Khalil Halilu, and other organization staff at the Agency’s Headquarters, Abuja. The courtesy visit provided a venue for rekindled alliances. The Director General of NAPTIP, who responded to the proposal by CWCD Africa for the adoption of the already developed UNSUB SGBV Reporting App, advocates the need to have an all-inclusive platform that will be accessible to the grassroots stakeholders in order to achieve maximum results. She continued by saying that CWCD Africa should pay attention to the ongoing establishment of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Vanguards in Federal Government Unity Schools throughout the country and the various platforms provided by the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act (VAPP) implementation of the concepts in order to raise awareness of the Organization GBV reporting APP UNSUB. Dr. Fatima Waziri-Azi, Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), has urged partners and civil society organizations across the country to increase advocacy and awareness on issues of sexual and gender-based violence in order to better the public’s understanding and reduce the frequency of abuses (SGBV). Programs Lead for CWCDAfrica, Anthony Eromosele, had previously lauded the organization for prior participation and expressed optimism for future cooperation through the successful launch of the UNSUB App.
